Men and grooming

Hello to you! How are you doing and how did your week go? Bet you are fine and your week has been awesome.

Today, I’ll be talking about men and grooming – the myths, the truths and the how.

Grooming has several meanings, but for the purpose of this discussion, I’ll focus on the meaning that involves taking care of one’s appearance (both inward and outward appearance). Contrary to the popular myth that men do not really need to care for themselves, that bathing alone is enough (some of them don’t even bath twice a day – or is it more like “a lot” of them?). Men actually need to groom themselves and in some cases, almost more than a woman and there are several ways they can do this. Here are a few:

  1. Visit your barber regularly- The truth is, whatever you notice on your body, best believe others have noticed it too. So if you think that hair needs to ‘go down low’ or that beard needs to be trimmed, you can be rest assured that others think so too…Oh and use an after shave to avoid those bumps.
  2. Know which hair products work for you and use them frequently- I don’t have any gist here other than to tell you “that your hair is too dry, cream it”.
  3. Find your signature perfume- Just so you know, mens sweat smells stronger than anything except a good perfume …that’s all!!!
  4. Wash your body and teeth regularly- Before I go far, your face is part of your body and the cleanliness of your teeth/mouth is a major part of your survival..Shikena.
  5. Pedicure and manicure- Simply put, as a man, taking care of your hands and legs is as important as it is for women. So you see that ‘pedi’ and ‘mani’? Go get ‘em man!!
  6. Last but definitely not the least is to wear good clothes, I mean attractive clothes and shoes that go with your belt.
